AI Can Generate Video in Minutes, But Still Can’t Read the Room

In a fast-moving world where video is foundational to any marketing strategy, Creative teams are looking for ways to launch content efficiently for more channels in ways that resonate with an audience. Naturally, teams are exploring AI, and tools are emerging that quickly offer solutions promising efficiency, scale, and data-driven insights. But are they working?
Our Creative team stays on top of the ever-changing AI tools, exploring their potential and learning the limits. We are eager to dive in and explore new ways to create with them; however, we’ve learned some valuable lessons along the way when creating or enhancing video with AI.
After a few recent experimentations converting still image to video, or generating video purely from prompts, these are our top three takeaways:
- Reality still beats artificial intelligence. AI struggles with understanding the nuances of human behavior, cultural context, and empathy. Using AI to create video from a photo can be useful in limited ways but often produces awkward body movement, robotic expressions, and fails to grasp how humans interact with each other and the world.
- Authenticity always wins. Consumers are more discerning than ever, with purpose at the core of winning their trust. They can see right through what is real or manufactured. AI-generated content just can’t replace the value of genuine human presence or connection that create moments of trust and meaning.
- AI cannot replace creativity. While it may enhance your ideas, analyze data patterns, and automate tasks, AI cannot replicate the sincerity of human imagination. Creativity requires emotion, and while AI can mimic emotion or personal experiences, it doesn’t truly understand or feel it. AI is designed to gather and assess data that already exists, not to take risks or break rules. Creatives bring deeper purpose to their work, and AI lacks that depth. If you want to innovate, understand, or create something truly meaningful, human thinking must always take the lead.
AI has proven incredibly useful for our team. It helps us create efficiencies and streamline workflows, tackle automations, and personalize content. It’s saved us hours of work gathering insights, trends, and possibilities we could have missed. But the advantage that AI will never have is the ability to read the room. Understanding people, human emotion, and cultural context bring depth and purpose to creative work, and that strength lies solely with human thinking.
